Read MoreItβs finally cold here in south Mississippi. THANK GOD. We have been having soup almost every day. THANK GOD. I missed soup so much over the summer, but it was just too hot for it. This soup is super, very easy and so so delicious. Itβs also in my Thanksgiving cookbook, Thanksgiving Feast Recipes! (click to check it out!)
Read MoreWe made these Mummy Pigs in a Blanket and they loved them. They loved helping me with them and loved eating them. They thought the mummies were so funny. I made enough for them to have for lunch and dinner and they ended up eating all the mummies for lunch (with the help of my husband).
Read MoreOne of my favorite fall activities is going to a live music event at a park near our house. Of course I love the live music, but probably my favorite part about it is the food. There are tons of food vendors lining the closed down street. And my favorite food to get at this event is caramel popcorn. I really got to craving it lately and decided to give it a try because I just couldnβt wait any longer. What I came up with is pretty different than what we eat at the park but totally delicious and super beautiful (popcorn can be beautiful).
Read MoreI wasn't really planning on having tacos but as the day went on and I started smelling the chicken cooking in those sauces, it smelled like taco night. I threw in some cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper and shredded up the chicken. Then, I just served them up on flour tortillas with guacamole, onion, cucumber, and tomato.
Read MoreSo we started dinner club. Once a week, we will cook a meal together. We had our first dinner club meeting a couple days ago and had the best time. We wanted to keep it pretty simple but also, I wanted it to be something pretty impressive too so we decided on chicken alfredo, cripsy brussels sprouts, and pea pickin' cake. We called it Leslie and Ann Dinner club because we are silly and love Park and Recreation.
Read MoreWe eat these a lot around here. My son thinks they are cookies and doesn't notice that they're good for him! I first made them as "lactation balls" when I was nursing my first baby and they were so good my husband ate them all.

First and foremost, Iβm pretty sure when my oldest was about a year and a half old I wrote a blog post about how he was such a wonderful eater. I was super proud of him and also kind of braggy about it. Approximately five minutes after I wrote that post, he became the worldβs pickiest eater.
Read MoreI'm a huge fan of tacos (I mean, who isn't) and an extra huge fan of fish tacos. This summer we have been trying super hard to include more fresh and natural (but still easy) foods into our days and these veggie filled tacos are just amazing.
Read MoreIf youβre on keto and anything like me, you majorly miss bread. Maybe itβs because Iβm just starting out (again) but the hunger and cravings have not ceased yet. I found this recipe for 90 second bread and OHHH MY GODβ¦ its good. Plus itβs seriously super easy and takes less than 5 minutes for the whole prepping and cooking process.
Read MoreIβm trying keto *again* and sticking with it *no matter how bad I want to quit* for the whole month of February. Even on Valentineβs Day. Even through Mardi Gras. There will be no chocolate covered strawberries or king cakes (anymore, I had a ton in January haha) for me this year.
Read MoreY'all I really love Halloween. Actually, just all of October. Its my favorite month. There are so many fun things in October...... my husband's birthday, our wedding anniversary, Halloween, and our city hosts a super fun thing called Live at Five, with lots of fun, food, and live music, every Friday night in October and we try to never miss.
Read MoreUntil recently, I thought I wasn't too fond of eggplant. I saw a recipe video for ratatouille on facebook and thought it looked easy and fun so I wanted to try it. TBH, I wasn't nearly as excited about eating it as I was about making it. I was pleasantly surprised, however, when IT WAS FREAKING DELICIOUS and seriously gone within 15 minutes....with just my husband and I eating it. Eggplant is.....so fine.
Read MoreGhormeh Sabzi literally means "herb stew" in Persian. It is a dark green stew made with kidney beans, onions, lamb or beef, and herbs (usually parsley, leeks, fenugreek, and cilantro - but different variations exist) and served over tahdig, this amazingly crunchy rice crust that I will go into more detail on in a bit.
Read MoreI've gotten into a slight obsession with my brand new muffin tin. Its glass. Its decorative. Its small. Its Pioneer Woman. I also have a slight obsession with Pioneer Woman. If you haven't seen her products, please get to Walmart and check them out.
Read MoreI haven't talked about it much here but for the past year I have been on a weight loss journey. I gained a lot of weight when I was pregnant with my daughter (who is now a year old) and soon after she was born I began using the Slow Carb Diet to lose the extra pounds.
Read MoreFor the past several years, I have participated in Lent. I did not grow up doing Lent. I grew up in a southern baptist church and had never even really heard of Lent until I was in college. My best friend in college was/is catholic and I became very fascinated when she would give up chips or sodas each year and decided I wanted to do it too. Still, my family doesn't observe it but it has something I have grown to love doing each year.
