Ghormeh Sabzi

Ghormeh Sabzi

Ghormeh Sabzi literally means "herb stew" in Persian. It is a dark green stew made with kidney beans, onions, lamb or beef, and herbs (usually parsley, leeks, fenugreek, and cilantro - but different variations exist) and served over tahdig, this amazingly crunchy rice crust that I will go into more detail on in a bit.

Lent + Chrissy Teigen's Cookbook + A Recipe

Lent + Chrissy Teigen's Cookbook + A Recipe

For the past several years, I have participated in Lent. I did not grow up doing Lent. I grew up in a southern baptist church and had never even really heard of Lent until I was in college. My best friend in college was/is catholic and I became very fascinated when she would give up chips or sodas each year and decided I wanted to do it too. Still, my family doesn't observe it but it has something I have grown to love doing each year.

Lentil Soup

This is my favorite soup.

My body needs it. Even my toddler loves it. When we're eating it he runs up saying "beans! beans! beans!", which is funny because he doesn't even eat regular beans. Here's the recipe! I hope you love it as much as we do!

"fellowship supper" is what we called it and that title always has creeped me out a bit. Anyway, someone always brought this dessert. I never knew who but later learned that it was a sweet woman named Eunice. I would always get a plate just for dessert and basically fill it up with this amazing treat.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Before Saturday, I had never made or really even eaten buffalo chicken dip, but I wanted to give it a try so I made it to take to a Christmas party we were going to. One reason I tend to stay away from this dip is because a lot of the recipes call for canned chicken. I'm not a super picky person, but I don't eat canned meat. So I made this recipe with real chicken breasts in the crock pot and it turned out sooo delicious!
